Donate $1 to us for free – simply by searching the web!

Between the hours of 10am ET on Thursday 12/9 and 12:59pm ET on Friday 12/10, a simple web search using the search bar at iGive.com could result in $1 being donated to us by the site. But you do have to use the following link, and you do have to join the site. Here’s the link:

The Dapper Dans of Harmony – Back by Popular Demand!

The Friends of the Edison Library will present the Dapper Dans of Harmony on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Clara Barton Branch Library, 141 Hoover Ave., Edison. The public as well as Friends members are welcome to attend.

This is a free program presented by The Friends of the Edison Library, and advanced registration is required. Reserve your seat by calling 732-738-0096, ext. 1, going on-line at http://www.lmxac.org/edisonlib (clicking on Programs and Displays), or signing up at the library circulation desk.

    • Fabric Marbleizing Program - Make a 60" Silk Scarf

      Starts: 12:00 pm

      Ends: February 25, 2012 - 2:00 pm

      Location: Edison Main Library, 340 Plainfield Ave., Edison, New Jersey

      Description: The Friends of the Edison Public Library will present artist Nancy Leary’s interactive silk scarf workshop at Main Library (at 340 Plainfield Avenue) on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 12:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to make a unique 60” scarf to match a favorite outfit or for a special gift using the beautiful ancient art form of “Ebru”, better known as marbleizing. In the workshop participants will learn both the technique and history of this ancient art.

      Nancy Leary, a graduate of Kean University in Union, has taken workshops at the John C. Campbell Folk School, Newark Museum and Kennedy Center. She has presented her art programs using a variety of disciplines at numerous venues across New Jersey. A few years ago Nancy presented her popular program, “Painted Canvas Floor Cloths” at the Edison Main Library.

      Please join us for this creative program. Advanced registration is required, and there is a $10.00 charge per scarf for participants which is payable on the day of the program. Please call the library if you must cancel after you have reserved a seat since there will be a waiting list.
